چکیده
Abstract We report a detailed analysis of failed eruption and flare in active region 12018 on 2014 April 3 using multiwavelength observations from the Solar Dynamics Observatory/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly, IRIS, STEREO, Hinode/Solar Optical Telescope. At least four jets were observed to emanate cusp this small (large bright point) with null-point topology during 2 hr prior slow rise filament. During filament multiple plasma blobs seen, most likely formed current sheet near cusp. The subsequent eruption, which was outside IRIS field view, accompanied by but remained confined. explosive reconnection phase, additional appeared repetitively moved bidirectionally within flaring below erupting kinked, rotated, underwent leg–leg as it rose, yet produce coronal mass ejection. Tiny jet-like features fan loops detected rise/preflare phase. interpret them signatures between ambient magnetic plasmoids leaving streaming along loops. contrast our interpretation these tiny jets, occur large-scale context local nanoflare-heating scenario proposed Antolin et al.

Observing the release of twist by magnetic reconnection in a solar filament eruption
Magnetic reconnection is a fundamental process of topology change and energy release, taking place in plasmas on the Sun, in space, in astrophysical objects and in the laboratory. However, observational evidence has been relatively rare and typically only partial. Here we present evidence of fast reconnection in a solar filament eruption using high-resolution H-alpha images from the New Vacuum ...
متن کاملExtreme ultraviolet imaging of three-dimensional magnetic reconnection in a solar eruption
Magnetic reconnection, a change of magnetic field connectivity, is a fundamental physical process in which magnetic energy is released explosively, and it is responsible for various eruptive phenomena in the universe. However, this process is difficult to observe directly. Here, the magnetic topology associated with a solar reconnection event is studied in three dimensions using the combined pe...
متن کاملMagnetic Reconnection in Sheared Solar Magnetic Arcades
The evolution of solar magnetic arcades is investigated with the use of MHD simulations imposing resistivity on sheared magnetic elds. It is found that there is a critical amount of shear, over which magnetic reconnection can take place in an arcade-like eld geometry to create a magnetic island. The process leading to reconnection cannot be solely attributed to a tearing instability, but rather...
متن کاملCatastrophic eruption of magnetic flux rope in the corona and solar wind with and without magnetic reconnection
It is generally believed that the magnetic free energy accumulated in the corona serves as a main energy source for solar explosions such as coronal mass ejections (CMEs). In the framework of the flux rope catastrophe model for CMEs, the energy may be abruptly released either by an ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) catastrophe, which belongs to a global magnetic topological instability of the sys...
متن کاملTwo–phase Cooling Flows with Magnetic Reconnection
Motivated by the observations of high Faraday rotation measures measured in cooling flow clusters we propose a model relevant to plasmas with comparable thermal and magnetic pressures. Magnetic field reconnection may play a major role in changing the topology of the magnetic field in the central cooling flow regions. The effect of the topology change is that cool flux loops can reconnect to hot...
